Education

I attended Eastern Michigan University and received a Bachelors Degree in Language Arts, with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have a ZA endorsement for Early Childhood Education. I attended Grand Canyons University for my Master's Program in Reading.

Experience

I'm a certifid Reading Recovery Teacher, for first grade. My main focus is providing intervention for both reading and writing. I've been teaching in an urban school district for eight years. I have to get recertified for my current job position, as a Reading Recovery yearly. I attend numerous professional developments in my content area, so I can better service my students. I do after school tutoring at my current school for K-3 graders, depending what grade I'm placed in. I want to be a tutor because I want to be able to assist struggling readers and writers to feel more confident about reading. I want to help children to reach their potentials in certain content areas that they're snot proficient in.
